At Motorsports Gateway Howell, we had the privilege of hosting leaders from Pratt Miller Motorsports during our Member Orientation event on August 21. Just three days later, they showed the world exactly why they’re among the most respected names in sports car racing. On August 24, the No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R, driven by Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims, stormed to victory at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). It was a performance that embodied what we’ve come to expect from Pratt Miller: strategic precision, consistent pace, and the ability to deliver when it counts most.
The team’s aggressive undercut on the first pit stop set the tone. Once in clean air, Garcia and Sims never relinquished control, leading 41 of the 81 laps and holding off a hard-charging Ferrari to claim their first win of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. The victory wasn’t an upset — it was an affirmation. Pratt Miller came to VIR as points leaders, and they left with that lead intact and extended. “It was a fantastic strategy by Pratt Miller to go aggressive on the first stop and then try to make something happen, and we did,” said Sims. “The Corvette was on rails.” Garcia, celebrating his fifth VIR win, echoed the sentiment: “Finally! It feels like VIR has always been good for us. It was a perfect race. Alex did a fantastic job. I’m very, very happy for this team and for Team Chevy.”
Motorsports Gateway celebrated an unforgettable weekend at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, deepening its partnership with Pratt Miller Motorsports and offering Drivers Club members a premium, behind-the-scenes racing experience. From simulator sessions on the MGH South Circuit to exclusive paddock access and prime views at Turn 3, members were immersed in the action. The event highlighted the shared values of speed, access, and community—and marked just the beginning of Motorsports Gateway’s growing presence in the world of professional motorsports.
Pratt Miller Motorsports had a standout June, with the No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R securing podium finishes in both Detroit and Watkins Glen, now leading the GTD PRO championship and helping Chevrolet top the manufacturer standings. Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims delivered consistently strong performances, with Sims executing a bold late-race pass at Watkins Glen to claim second place—marking their fourth podium in five races. Sentiment is highly positive, highlighting teamwork, strategy, and momentum as the team looks ahead to the next IMSA round in Canada.
