We are thrilled to unveil the exciting additions that have been included in the updated design of the South Circuit at Motorsports Gateway Howell. As we have been making improvements to the land and working with regulatory agencies, we discovered the opportunity to extend and create new features in the design of the South Circuit. These enhancements have been created to elevate your driving experience with unique features inspired by some of the most well-known features found on tracks around the world. Let's delve into the details of these upgrades that promise to add a new dimension to a highly anticipated track experience.
The Evolution of a Circuit
At Motorsports Gateway Howell, we are committed to evolving with each step. The South Circuit's recent transformation is a testament to our dedication to providing you with an exceptional and safe driving environment. The South Circuit maintains a consistent width of 40 feet throughout its entirety. This width, considered generous for a club track, ensures you have the space to push your limits while maintaining a secure environment. The improvements made to the design of the South Circuit have extended the track by 1/10th of a mile, now stretching a total of ±1.75 miles. In addition, we’ve added a heavy-breaking zone at the end of the half-mile straight and extended the runoff area. This allows you to achieve higher speeds on the 1/2-mile straight without compromising our safety standards. The revamped South Circuit is all about embracing dynamism, ensuring that each lap you take is a challenging and exhilarating experience.
Inspired by Legends
One of the most exciting additions to the circuit is inspired by the iconic Nurburgring Carousel. We've carefully curated Turn 13 with a steep 15% cross slope to mimic the thrilling sensation of completing a turn at the Nurburgring Carousel. Our ‘mini carousel’ pays homage to the legendary Nurburgring Circuit and adds an iconic feature to your drive while challenging you to master its intricacies.
Our commitment to your driving experience is evident in the addition of three new turns, bringing the South Circuit to a total of 14 turns. This change injects additional fun challenges into your drive so every lap is a thrill. The flowing S of turns 7 and 8 push you to find the optimal driving line to carry your momentum onto the half-mile straight. Whether you're a seasoned racer or a budding enthusiast, the circuit's turns and elevation changes provide the perfect playground for improving your driving abilities.
